From Earth to Art

Welcome to Shlo Ceramics, I'm Sloka Akula aka Shlo and my journey as a small batch potter began with a fascination for the elements of the universe, with the earth captivating me the most. The tactile joy of playing with clay and creating something tangible from it was an irresistible intrigue. This passion drove me to pursue pottery, leading me to complete a residency that forever changed my life.

By day, I navigate the world of marketing, but by night, I transform into a ceramicist, pouring my heart and soul into each piece I create. There are nights when I dream of throwing clay on the wheel, not sure if that happens to everyone, but it certainly fuels my creativity.

Every piece I craft is born out of love and passion. I embrace the imperfections, seeing them as marks of handmade craftsmanship, a reminder that in a world full of machines, my pottery is crafted by human hands. In 2023, I moved to the United States, and since then, I have been working tirelessly to establish my ceramic presence.

My journey with clay is ongoing, each piece a testament to my dedication and the endless inspiration I draw from the earth!
